Abstract

This paper builds on previous work on committee assignment in the EP (Bowler and Farrell 1995) by employing data on MEPs’ preferences derived from roll-call votes, in combination with information on members’ occupational background and interest group affiliation to assess these different approaches in the context of the EP.
